Excellent machinability in T6 / T651, produces tight swarf chips with chip breaker.
Widely used as a structural alloy, often replacing 6061 in many applications.
Heat-treatable strength tuning – Able to strengthen via solution + aging processes (unlike many 5xxx / 3xxx series).
Balanced performance – Good combination of strength, corrosion resistance, weldability, and formability.
High strength in 6000 series – 6082 is among the highest strength in the 6000 family and often used for structural applications.
Good machinability & finishing – Especially in T6/T651, enables tighter machining tolerances and good surface finishes.
Excellent weldability – Compatible with MIG, TIG welding; proper post-weld treatment restores strength.
Versatile usage – Suitable for structural, architectural, automotive, and machinery parts.
Customization capability – YUQI can supply custom sizes, patterns, coatings, and plate/coil/ sheet forms.
Structural & Architectural: Frames, supports, roofing, facades, load-bearing panels
Automotive & Transportation: Chassis components, body panels, brackets, heat sinks
Machinery & Equipment: Machine bases, frames, mold plates, precision parts
Marine & Outdoor Structures: Where moderate corrosion resistance plus strength are required
General Engineering: Tooling, jigs, fixtures, mechanical parts
6061 is one of the most versatile and commonly used heat-treatable aluminum alloys. It belongs to the Al-Mg-Si family and gains strength through precipitation hardening.
Key features include:
Good strength-to-weight ratio
Good corrosion resistance (though slightly lower than 6063 due to copper content).
Excellent weldability (MIG, TIG).
Good machinability, especially in T6 / T651 tempers.
Available in many tempers (O, T4, T6, T651, etc.).
6061 can be supplied as sheet, plate, and coil. It is used in a wide range of thicknesses, from thin sheet to structural plates, depending on application requirements.
6061 aluminum sheet is a cold-treated aluminum forging product, suitable for applications with high corrosion resistance and oxidation requirements, good usability, excellent interface characteristics, easy coating and good processability.
6061 aluminum coil and aluminum plate uses: aircraft parts, camera parts, couplers, marine accessories and hardware, electronic accessories and joints, decorative or various hardware, hinge heads, magnetic heads, brake pistons, electrical accessories, valve parts, mobile phone card slot button, bus body structure, car engine parts, car hub ,etc.
Structural framing and construction elements (bridges, building supports)
Aerospace and aircraft components (where moderate strength + lightweight are needed)
Automotive parts (chassis, frames, machine parts)
Marine hardware (boat hulls, decks, fittings)
Heat sinks, electronic housings
Miscellaneous parts requiring good mechanical properties and formability

6063 is often called the “architectural alloy” because of its excellent finish, extrudability, and suitability for decorative profiles. It is also heat-treatable.
Notable properties:
Better surface finish and anodizing qualities than many alloys
Superior extrudability – ideal for complex profiles
Good corrosion resistance in typical atmospheric environment
Moderate strength – lower than 6082 but superior to many 1xxx / 3xxx series in certain temper.
Primarily used in extrusions, but also available as sheet and plate for architectural and panel applications.
6063 aluminum coil and aluminum plate uses: mobile phone card slot, mobile phone case, mold, automobile, precision machining, etc.
Window frames, door frames, curtain walls, railings
Architectural decorative elements
Profiles, tubing, and structural parts in low-to-moderate load environments
Because of its better finish and ease of extrusion, 6063 is often preferred for visible building parts.
